Books for each Bookshelf box are curated by the Wilfred family who run The Genius. We have 30 years of experience in instilling the love of reading in children. The Genius has some of the best curated libraries in Indore. The prize books we give away every year at our Annual Awards functions have seeded the libraries of thousands of readers.
Our association with books goes back even further. We used to have the largest bookstore in Bangalore (and probably India too) back in the late 1970s, and we’ve continued to be associated with the book trade in one way or another ever since.
The point is, we’re book experts. Our family is full of avid readers who have grown up (or are growing up) with first-rate home libraries. We regularly spend many hours scouring the literary world looking for the best age-appropriate books from international publishers and searching for the best deals. Many of the books in Bookshelf boxes have been read and loved by a member of our family. They are parent-tested and kid-approved!
I think it’s safe to claim that there are very few people who are more knowledgeable about children’s literature than us.
With all this experience under our belt, we are confident that every month’s box contains a delightful selection of well-loved classics and our special selections.

Like I said, we’re book experts. We’ll use all our years of experience to choose the best books for each age group and reading level. We can make avid readers out of reluctant ones with our book choices — and we’ll introduce voracious readers to new interests and adventures! That's our job — and we love it, and are passionate about it.
If you like spending hours doing your own book research in order to buy books online, or sifting through all the mediocre books sitting on bookstore shelves (a lot of them seem to feature TV characters, have you noticed?) to find buried treasures... go for it.
On the other hand, if you want brilliant, hand-picked books delivered to your home on auto-pilot, let us help! (Oh, and have I mentioned that with a Bookshelf subscription, you’ll always be getting books for less than their retail price?)
We would argue that there’s no such thing as too many books. The reading habit is the gift that keeps on giving, and there’s plenty of research to show that the more books children have access to, the more intelligent they’ll grow up to be. As the good Dr. Seuss recommends,
“Fill your house with stacks of books, in all the crannies and all the nooks.”
Trust us when we say there is something magical about having plenty of books around the home for children to discover. So before you decide you have enough books, give a thought to whether there are any “crannies and nooks” where you could fit a few more.
If you live in Indore, your box will be delivered to you by the 15th of every month. For the rest of India, the boxes will be shipped between the 10th & 15th and will reach their destination typically within 6-9 business days.
